Effective Date: September 17, 2026
At Utility Watt, we are committed to helping you understand your energy costs while protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect minimal information necessary to provide you with energy analytics and subscription features: • Account Details: Your name and email address when you register on our platform. • Usage Data: Simulated or connected smart meter interval data (kWh) and utility region selections (such as Oncor, CenterPoint, or AEP) used to calculate bill estimates. • Payment Details: Financial transactions are securely handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. Utility Watt does not view or store your full credit card numbers or banking credentials.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to power your dashboard and help you save money: • To calculate and display your smart meter pacing and cost estimates. • To decode utility plans and identify tiered contract rates. • To manage your account status and process subscription tiers ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr). • To send you automated welcome emails and service updates.
3. Data Protection & Security
We take security seriously. Utility Watt features a read-only architecture for data evaluation. All prototype connections and database records utilize secure AES-256 internal encryption formatting to ensure your metrics remain completely private.
4. Zero Data Selling
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or electricity consumption metrics with third-party utility brokers, marketing networks, or corporate advertisers. Your data belongs to you.
