Utility Watt Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 14, 2026

At Utility Watt, we believe your data belongs to you. We are committed to absolute transparency and bank-grade security.

1. Data Access & Security

Utility Watt connects to your electricity usage data via the official Smart Meter Texas (SMT) portal. Our connection is strictly read-only. We can only view your past and current kilowatt-hour (kWh) usage intervals. We have zero technical capability to alter your utility plan, change your provider, or affect your physical electrical service. Your utility login credentials are instantly encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 protocols. We do not store your private utility passwords on our servers.

2. Information We Collect

We collect your name, email address, and zip code to set up your profile and accurately calculate your regional utility delivery fees (CenterPoint, Oncor, AEP, or TNMP). We collect your daily and hourly kWh usage history to populate your dashboard and calculate your pacing goals.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or energy data with third-party advertisers, brokers, or electric companies. Your data is used exclusively to help you monitor your billing thresholds.
